Total management plans for the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea

The Norwegian Government presented in spring 2006 a white paper to the parliament, Stortinget, with a holistic management plan for the Barents Sea and the sea areas off Lofoten. The government has further decided to develop a similar management plan for the Norwegian Sea and present it as a white paper to the parliament in spring 2009.

The Norwegian Exclusive Economic Zone

Norway has established three zones of 200 nautical miles: an exclusive economic zone around the Norwegian mainland (the Norwegian Exclusive Economic Zone), a fishery protection zone around Svalbard and a fishery zone around Jan Mayen.
